A Great Aromatherapy Recipe For Massages
You are probably already aware of aromatherapy and the many benefits it
has. Aromatherapy products are sold in almost every general merchandize store. It’s in our soaps, lotions, shampoos, candles, fragrances and more. People love to use it because of the delicious smells and the dramatic effects it can have on your mood and
health.
We can benefit from even the smallest amount of aromatherapy. People have used aromatherapy for years to heal, strengthen and for spiritual needs as well. Great physicians of the past have relied on aromatherapy when nothing else would work. Surely if
millions of people used it centuries ago and the popularity continues today, it must be worth trying!
If you're interested in creating your own soaps, lotions, sprays, or tinctures,
you'll need some reliable aromatherapy recipes to follow. There are aromatherapy recipes
for making your messaging oil, perfume, bath essentials, diffusers, direct application to the skin, air freshener, inhalation, vaporize,
personal care, cleaning and more.
Everyone loves a good massage. Now
that you're learning about aromatherapy, you have a way of making your own message oil. Massage can increase your circulation and relieve the
tension from your muscles.
The oil is an important part of massage because of its effect. Using an aromatherapy inspired formula can make massages twice as relaxing as they would otherwise be. In
order to make massage oil you will need both an essential oil, and a carrier oil.
Essential oil is the extract that comes from a plant, root, or leaf. Carrier oils are a type of gentler oil that allows the essential oil to absorb into the skin. Without carrier oils the essential oil would not be absorbed like it should, and may irritate the
skin.
Here's my favorite aromatherapy recipe for massages:
½ oz sweet almond oil or jojoba oil
2 drops lavender essential oil
1 drop chamomile essential oil
Each one of these oils does something different. Chamomile can be used for
allergies, arthritis, colic, cuts, cystitis, dermatitis, earaches, headaches, inflamed skin, insect bites, insomnia, strains, stress and more.
Lavender is good for acne, allergies, anxiety, burns, colic, cuts, cystitis,
headache, migraine, sores, stress, and more. It's soothing and leaves you feeling
comfortable.
Sweet almond oil is the carrier oil needed to make the massage smooth.
It is great for chapped skin, itching and dryness of the skin. It contains lots of vitamin E.
Jojoba oil is a close match for our own skin's natural sebum. That's why it's great to use on acne prone skin.
As you see they all the ingredients in this aromatherapy recipe play an important
part in massage and they all have one thing in common – they're great for your body.
